Boiler/Power Plant Operator

Job Description:

Performs a variety of complex Power Plant Operator duties including but not limited to: Daily operational checks of all Power Plant and associated equipment in a newly upgraded, state of the art Power Plant, maintain Site CDA (Clean, Dry, Air) systems in accordance with ISO Class 1 standards, Hot water heating loops, Process Chill Water system, and an industrial/Manufacturing Vacuum system. Responsible for scheduling and supervising annual Cleaning and certifications on two Cleaver Brooks, gas fired industrial Boilers, a Cleaver Brooks dual system DA tank and associate storage tanks throughout the site. Additional responsibilities include weekly Boiler water sampling and testing, quarterly water sample collection, supporting outside vendor testing and analysis.  Performs additional chemical treatment of all fluid systems based off vendor analysis report.

1. Installs and maintains various types of systems including but not limited to: fire protection, process chemical, waste treatment, process steam heat, vacuum, potable water, hydronic, cooling, deionized water, compressed air, process and high purity gases, domestic and process waste and cryogenics.
2. May perform Site Plumber duties to assist as needed.
3. Perform duties of an On Call technician on a rotational basis, with exceptional compensation during week of on call duties.
4. May be required to participate on special teams including but not limited to: snow removal, emergency response and must be responsive to off-hour emergencies.
5. Performs other duties and responsibilities as required.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills:

• Requires a High School diploma or GED.
• Minimum 4 years’ experience as a Boiler Operator and/or technician.
• State of NH Gas Service Technician license
• Commercial/Industrial experience in the mechanical trades.

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills:

• Familiar with Microsoft Office, OSHA Training and computer-based maintenance/work order tracking software.  
• Familiar with PLC based equipment operating controls.
• 2nd or 3rd Class Engineers License (or Equivalent).
